"Nurturing the mind, heart, and soul at home where love is at its best."
Statement of Beliefs
The Wynfield Christian Academy Home Study Program (HSP) develops and/or evaluates a K-12 course of study for each student and their family. Upon approval, the staff monitors your program, conducts semester course tests, provides standardized testing, and maintains records and documentation including report cards and accredited transcripts and diplomas.
The Home Study Program can
provide students and their families with educational materials that have been
specifically designed for independent implementation. The curriculum includes
teacher guides, easy-to-understand directions, self-tests and final tests. Students
may take just one course or a complete grade level. By enrolling in and completing
courses in this program, students receive documentation of their coursework.
HSP courses are perfect for students in many different situations such as:
High school students who want to take courses for credit or earn a diploma
at their own pace
Home schooled students
Students unable to attend traditional settings due to specific scheduling or health concerns
By enrolling in the Distance Learning Program, students are given appropriate curriculum materials and assignments. Upon proper completion of the course(s), they receive documentation such as report cards or transcripts, portfolios of work completed, etc.

Read the following questions for more information.
The Parent Mentor- This individual serves as the teacher who actually instructs the student using the approved curriculum materials. A parent with a high school diploma and some academic credit beyond high school may be the Mentor. Individuals other than a parent may serve as the Mentor provided they hold a college degree.
Determine who will serve as the Mentor and Test Proctor. Then simply print out and complete the application packet, including the Course Selection and Request for School Records forms. You must be able to answer all questions “yes” on the application in order to begin the program. Select the courses desired, compute your tuition as indicated, and mail the application packet, Mentor documentation, and tuition check to the address shown.
Upon receipt of a completed application packet and check, Wynfield Christian Academy will order and ship to you all required materials for the course(s) you have selected. Once each course has been finished, the mentor is to mail in the tests for documentation. A final test for each course must be completed in the presence of a Wynfield Staff member. Upon satisfactory review of the test (students must finish with a test average of at least 80%), Wynfield Christian Academy will record and e-mail or mail grades back to the parent. This program is designed to operate as independent study. Wynfield Christian Academy does not provide instructors for these courses. Families convenient to Macon, Georgia, may enroll in on-site courses at an additional cost.
Each course is designed for the individual student based on previous standardized test scores, report cards, and parental input of the student’s strengths and weaknesses and a entrance test called the Wide Range Achievement Test- Revised (WRAT). The materials used come from recognized Christian and secular educational curriculum publishers. Some contain Christian religious elements which students may or may not agree with completely. Wynfield Christian Academy is a Christian education provider, however, we will try to work with the student and parents regarding religious issues during the curriculum development phase.
A contact attendance form showing a minimum of 120 contact hours must be received
with the completion materials and tests at the end of a course before credit
can be awarded. Parents may administer the Home Study Program provided they
have a high school diploma. On the application, Wynfield Christian Academy must
receive documentation indicating who will be mentoring the student and what
credentials that person holds. To receive a diploma from the Home Study Program,
students must provide Wynfield Christian Academy with one set of nationally
standardized test scores from their high school years, such as the ITBS, CAT,
or Stanford for every year enrolled in the HSP. A minimum of one SAT or ACT
score is also required before graduation from Wynfield Christian Academy. The
number of credits required for graduation is 24 for a standard College Prep
Program. A minimum of 26 credits with a 3.7 GPA is required for an honors standing.
Specific graduation course requirements are available in detail from the school
or on the WCA Online site which is used as the school's classrooms. Credit earned
prior to being enrolled in Wynfield’s HSP will be verified after one complete
school year is satisfactorily achieved through Wynfield’s HSP.
Each complete grade level is $1000.00 per student for high school students and $800.00 per student for K-8 students. Each semester course (1/2 credit) is $100.00 per student. These prices include materials, documentation and shipping. If a student desires to take the course(s) on site, the costs will be $500.00 per 1 credit course per student or $2800 for 36 week school per student including materials, documentation, and state certified teacher supervision. Standardized Testing is an additional fee based on the test chosen. If weekly contact is needed, students may attend the school on site one day of each week for an additional $300.00 per year.
For those parents who qualify and feel confident developing their own curriculum and educational plan, you may opt for the less supervised plan. Curriculum must still be approved by Wynfield Staff and a course end test must be administered, scored, and recorded through our program. Standardized testing must be completed by Wynfield Staff members (additional cost based on test taken), or the Homeschool Association’s yearly testing, and Wynfield Staff must keep a copy of the results. We also must keep copies of contact hours per course, all tests not just the course end tests, and copies of a minimum of one SAT or ACT score. Parent/Mentors will be required to take WCA's Parent/Mentor classes to help them improve as homeschool teachers. Other requirements are listed in detail on the WCA Online site which is used as the school's classrooms. The cost for this program for each grade level is $50.00 a month until one grade level is completed per student with a minimum of ten months.
Computerized Online Curriculum- There is also a complete online computer curriculum available for grades 3-12 for those students who have internet access. All grades, record-keeping, report cards, transcripts, etc. is handled with this program. Standardized testing each year and on-site testing of each subject's final in the computer program is required. Student will log in to the same program at a school computer site to take the final test in each subject for monitoring. The cost of this program is $1400.00 per school grade level.
The Documentation Only program involves almost no supervision from school staff. This program is for experienced home educators and families who are members of a homeschool association. Initial entry documentation from Mentor is still required as well as standardized testing once per year. The testing can be done by the WCA staff or a homeschool association providing the school is given a copy. Prior curriculum approval is required and any changes made must be pre-approved. Final tests for each course are mandated to be taken at the WCA site. Parent/Mentors will be required to take WCA's Parent/Mentor classes to help them improve as homeschool teachers. The cost is $250.00 per year or $25.00 per month plus a $25.00 per family per year technology fee. Other requirements are listed in detail on the WCA Online site used as the school's classrooms. Approval for this program must be given by Wynfield staff.
A Tutoring Program is also available for students of the HSP, any public school student, or any private school student. The cost for each tutoring session for about one hour of service is $30.00. Staff used for most tutoring sessions has an Educational Specialist Degree/State of Georgia T-6 certification. For those with high speed internet access, online tutoring is available, as well. Certain equipment will be required by not provided by the school for this service.
